White egg layers with tight combs?

Are there any breeds known for laying white eggs and having small, tight combs? Living in Michigan, I prefer to keep breeds with combs that are less prone to frostbite. I recently had leghorns in my flock, but ultimately gave them back to my mother. I didn't like their behavior or comb but enjoyed the added color variety we'd have with our eggs.

If you're looking for large fowl non-crested breeds there's not a lot out there. All I'm coming up with off the top of my head is Russian orloff. If crests don't bother you, polish and houdans lay white eggs

I've had polish before. It's been a couple of years, but I seem to remember they only laid 1-2times per week. I'll look into the other two. I've never heard of Russian Orloffs.

Rose comb leghorns are out there, just not as common....when im looking for less readily available birds I post to my regional groups and find local breeders working with what I want.

My daughter is in a local chapter of 4H poultry. I will reach out to the other parents and see if there are any in our area. When discussing it before, most white egg layers were from small bantam breeds.

Speckled Sussex don’t lay white eggs but they sometimes lay a cream colored egg and their combs are shorter and tighter than a Leghorn. They’re also pretty chill

Chill would be nice! The two leghorns I had before would fly at my face every time I walked into the run.

My rose comb brown leghorns are super inquisitive, she'll run up to me for food and then scuttle away.
Sussex have larger combs.
