Have two New Hampshire's, not to sure about their age as I bought them as egg laying chickens ?(about 1 to 1.5 years I hope). They have started laying white eggs, not a big issue as they are laying but why the change. We have had a serious hot spell the last week but they have enough water, greens, weeds, kitchen disposables, peach peels, mango peels, laying pellets etc.

How dark a brown did they lay before?
The brown coating can vary in darkness.
Diet can affect all parts of the egg laying machine.
Wonders if they are eating enough of the layer feed(and it's essential vitamins/mineral/amino acids)...with all that other stuff you are feeding them?

Heat can keep them from eating enough too, they just want to drink more water to try to cool their bodies. I give a dose of electrolytes during heat waves.

Waiting for stupid apple to download everything from cell and will post egg picture, They have not been eating the Layer pellets as they should but they do at about a 70% rate but then they are "female", nothing new there :) but still laying eggs. Normal brown to really white, I have always been giving my chickens everything from the kitchen and the neighbours and garden except egg shells for years (OK have my NH's for only a short while ?(4 months)), I will not give egg shells but they love chicken bones. I will research amino acids but that goes into the water, two containers of 5 litre water a day and it is either drank or evaporates.

Pictures please of the eggs and birds? Older girls tend to lay lighter eggs sometimes :)
Posted eggs, we have a pleasant patch off wet weather with some rain so the chickens are hiding, they have been bought without a lot of feathers so when I do post them, don't kill the messenger. They are supposed to be young.
