Well, he is 100% white. No other colors at all. He's got a big, poofy face & lots of leg feathering. However, he is missing his extra toe on one of his feet...

I have decided NOT to keep him because I'd like to focus on my salmons...I do have another batch of eggs from this same person as well as a few others from another breeder cookin' right now...so we'll see.

He's free to a good home for anyone on BYC!

Otherwise, I'm asking $15 to avoid him going to the stew pot.

Sounds like a good choice, I wouldn't use him just because of the 4-toe defect. Your next generation out of him would have hidden in most likely to pop out again later.

Yeah...but if people don't care about that & just want one--because he IS gorgeous, friendly & just too cute...than it would be a perfect match! However, I'm trying to breed for perfection, rather than cuteness.

Sounds like a good plan! Fav roosters do make such nice pets, mine are sweet and calm and are very tolerant of all the baby chicks I stick with them and their ladies to raise. Not many of my other breeds would take on babies appearing out of nowhere and of all kinds of breeds too. They are so sweet. Great with kids. I hope he gets a home!

Wish I was closer to you, but I live right across the country in Upstate NY! No practical way to get a mature bird here! I am planning an experiment crossing NHR and Faverolles, and white is just the color I need, hoping the Faverolle x NHR will be a sex-link. My aim is a meat bird, while not sacrificing the winter-layer quality of the Faverolle or the supposed early maturity/fleshing out of the NHR

I would appreciate any advice from the Faverolle/NHR experts here.

What would a Faverolle x Cubalaya utility cross be like, the latter already supposed to be derived from bits of the former plus Malayan fowl?

Faverolle x O-shamo (meat type)?

Would be grateful for any informaion about the availability of the Japanese dual-purpose Nagoya breed in the USA.

JUST In General..............how can I learn about all this? I love Faverolles...........however I am quickly seeing that there are birds that are like- I guess back yard puppy breeders! I want a true Fav. flock! Help and thanks!
