White feathers on Buff Orpington roo?

I don't really know. I was just commenting that I have the same situation. Mine is not old, he's still a baby (4 mos)--so for mine it isn't age. I think someone previously commented that it might be age, but I think it's more likely that he has some white breed in his past.

Ok, I bought my Buff's off a site on Ebay...seller stated that his are pure bred and he had a 100 rating...well this is what I got, have 2 that have the what I call speckled white lace look, have 1 that has black in his tail, and have the rest a deep red golden beautiful color

seller swears up and down that they are Pure Buffs....

So you think he is old, or that he is just mixed with a white roo?

I would think he is getting older because my Barred Rock roo is getting white on his tail feathers in the places yours is and he is 2

Fluffy Puffy - the white feather in your roos tail is not all that uncommon in buff breeding. You really want to avoid breeding that if you're breeding for quality or show. If he's a pet, then have a blast.

2txmedics - the bird you pictured is not a buff orpington. There should never be that much black in an orp. It looks like a cross breed to me, but it is hard to tell with a small pic.

What if in like a couple tail feathers the very tips are blackish?

Here's my roo. I don't see any black in the female, although she's molting and only has one tail feather..LOL He's 4 months old, so isn't grown yet.
