Just had 2 White Holland hens that were sharing a nest hatch 11 poults.

For first time sitters they are doing very well, we moved them and the poults to a secure pen with chicken hen that hatched out some Muscovy ducklings. I figure the little ones will be confused when this is all over. When I was taking the pics a few poults were with the chicken hen and few ducklings decided the feathers were warmer under a turkey hen. lol

Congrats on the poults. Nice looking incubator too. Do you anticipate any blue eyed offsping from this particular cross?

Quote:
Incubator? that would be a White Holland hen, or hens. We are breeding our White Hollands for the original bird (blue eyes) not the APA standard that calls for blue eyes.

There is no cross with our turkeys, they are all pure breed, all 6 breeds that we raise.

Did you mean that you are breeding for brown eyes? I LOVE your Hollands! Sure hope mine hatch out. My little Midget was raised with ducks and gets SO upset when the duckies go swimming without him.

That should of been:
We are breeding our White Hollands for the blue eyes not the APA standard of brown eyes.
We are breeding our heritage turkeys for the orginial birds and the APA standard, except where the APA standard does not reflect the orginial bird.
Sorry for the confusion.
