White leg horn hens

Now it is being questioned if she is a he? Looked at saddle feathers they appear the same as the other females, the sickle feathers go straight up, do not curl, this one just has a huge comb and waddles compared to the other 3.

Here is one of our roosters from the same batch we had to get rid of. This is him now. Comparing him to the one, id say that its a female. Maybe just early grower? She hasn't been making her noise anymore since that morning. But this image is of the rooster who is the same age.

Hi

I'm sorry I haven't replied sooner, but for some reason I was not receiving alerts. I'm pretty confident she is a pullet and just an early developer. Chickens are no different to humans or any other animal in that respect. Some will reach puberty earlier than others.
They do get quite chatty and sometimes a bit aggressive or at least more assertive as they get ready to start laying. She may practice the egg song for several days before you see an egg, or she may get it right first time. They will usually start to investigate the nest boxes and scratch the nesting material out if the lip on the nest box isn't big enough. She might lay her first egg off the roost bar during the night.... there are no hard and fast rules. Just keep an eye on her and hopefully you will see a beautiful white egg very soon.

She has not done it simce that day. However someone if making a mess of the nesting boxes lol. I keep checking and every day the hay is just moved around bunched up differently. So maybe its her.
