Here are two chicks that a broody hen in my hen house hatched about 9.5 weeks ago. One has relatively larger waddles than the other and I'm pretty sure that he is a cockeral. However, the other has smaller waddles and I can't tell. Any guesses?

That's what I'm hoping for! A great pair to give to a good friend in need

IMO, those are both cockerels. At 9.5 weeks old, my Leghorns hens had almost no combs and wattles. They stayed yellow for a very long time, then it seemed like they grew over night and got red and floppy when they were nearly ready to lay....

At 9.5 weeks neither of them should really have red combs or wattles, so is it possible they are both cockerels?

Another zombie thread....considering the birds in question are now three years old, I sure hope the gender question has been answered!
