it seems all of the girls in the flock are laying EXCEPT the white leghorns (unless they are laying something other than white). I picked up 7 chicks on March 8 when they were between 3 & 7 days old.

How long does it normally take for white leghorns to start laying?

My two leghorns were the very first to lay. BUT, I thought a third chickie was also a leghorn and found out she was a White Rock and laid a brown egg. So just "food for thought".

Good luck!

Mine are almost 18 weeks old and have not yet started but all have red combs just starting to flop over and several are squatting for me. I am hoping it won't be long now!

My leghorn started laying at exactly 20 wks. This is the 1st time I have a leghorn, so I dont know if that is the average.
