white leghorns

You have White Rocks, not White Leghorns. The differences are the body shape and the earlobe color (as well as the eggshell color). Leghorns have white earlobes and a thin, angluar body. White Rocks have red earlobes (like yours), and are more heavy set.
 
Thanks all - the color of the egg doesn't matter much to me ( my DW was hoping for some white eggs) but I guess it is a lesson learned about where to buy chickens if you want a certain breed
