Hey there. I have 8 BO pullets. I think they are getting pretty close to laying. Their wattles are getting bright red and I'm getting squats

I've noticed on one of my girls that her 'ear' wattles are mostly white. I've tried to gently scrape it with my finger nail but it doesn't come off and she doesn't seem to be bothered by it.
Could it be a mold or fungus? I'm confused since I can't seem to scrape it off.

Thanks!

I don't know

It's not her ear that's white...it's the wattle just below her ear that is red on all the other girls....it's white on her. Still soft and same size, just turning white.

I have a little aracona who is 2-3 years old who I only just a couple days ago noticed she had white ear lobes. I would like to know the answer to this because I'm sure her ear lobes have been red all along.

They are not laying yet so would they still begin bleaching? When they bleach....do they get really white? I'd post a pic but I'm traveling for work

That's good to know....I've notice the white/chalky coloring on more of them now. They are not acting any differently and the wattles aren't scabby. They're just chalky looking but I can't get it to come off.
