White Orpington Leg Color? Pic added

Buster, I would appreciate a picture. Everyone here has been very helpful. Maybe one day I can return the favor.

Darn...I agree. Look like production White Rocks.

Yellow legs do fade in time...but generally only in hens because they use the yellow pigmentation to color the yolks of the eggs. The better the layer, the paler the legs.

Shame...looks like the seller doesn't know much about breeds.

Ok here are some pics of the two girls I have. I couldn't find any in photobucket so I just went out and took new ones. They were a little shy but I managed to get some shots of their beaks and legs. They are both around 10 1/2 months old.

Thank you Buster, they sure do look different. Guess I am back to square one.

Not only they have yellow legs but has nothing of a confirmation of an Orpington...big, blocky and HUGE in size (almost right next to Giants but a tad smaller). What you have is more narrower and certainly a Rock cross somewhere or Leghorn, Rock cross......

EweSheep, thank you. I guess I am back to square one as far as the Whites are concerned. I am debating if I should contact the seller again and let her know she may want to double check what she has as she has eggs listed most of the time. What does everyone think?

Thanks again to everyone on this board. Always a big help.

I purchased orpingtons from a breeder that had the yellow leg color, later as they grew two of them out of the six ended up with white legs (they changed colors as they grew) the person I got them from I think was unaware that her's were crossed with a rock but they sure were beautiful. She offered me my money back so that was nice. I didn't accept as I thought they were just fine and I hadn't planned on using them for anything other than eggs anyhow.
