I have a pullet from this spring who we bought from McMurray Hatchery as a White Orpington. We've never had this breed before, and google images doesn't seem to be implying that that breed should have blue feet. She is 14 weeks old. Any ideas?

They should be white in order to meet the APA Standard however Black Orpingtons do have slate colored legs. It's possible that she is the product of a cross to Black Orpingtons in order to increase the genetic diversity of the flock and got the gene for slate legs from there.

I'm not that sure how the genetics of leg color works, but I do know years ago I had some recessive white Faverolles pop up out of a line of blacks. While all the white cockerels had white legs, all the pullets had blue. So I suspect blue legs isn't that unusual.
