White Orpington

Just wondering if there were any other white orp owners out there? My 6 year old wanted to buy a hen with his own money and chose Hattie the white orp. We've never had orps before and Hattie sure is a weird one... She follows you around almost like she wants to be petted but if you try, she scoots off. Also wondering when should we expect eggs? She must be close to 30 weeks now and nothing! The other hens are all moulting, but she hasn't yet.

I've owned white orps before. They are docile and good layers so it sounds like Hattie is acting pretty normal all things considered. She might be acclimating to the changes. As long as she has plenty of food and a good place to lay she should start laying soon. (Unless of course she's going into a moult like the others) Good luck!
