trying to figure out what kind of white this rooster carries.
white wyandotte crossed with blue ameraunca = white chick (pure white at 6 weeks old)
white wyandotte over splash and blue blue laced red , just hatched 50% browns (blue laced reds??) and 50% white
so what kind of white could he be carrying (told he had silver laced in his backround)

sounds like he has one copy of dominant white, and so he will pass it to half of his offspring. He could still carry recessive white as well, but it only shows when there are two coppies.

I had not thought to that.
which would mean that all the whites are girls and all the browns are boys unless they are from the bblr hen

Sorry neither dominant nor recessive white are sex linked. Silver is sex linked but you have to use a silver hen and gold rooster.

so what color do you think the brown chicks will grow up to be? and what about the whites. 2 of the whites have black marks on their backs.

Brown will probably be laced but mabe not well. Depends what pattern the white was hiding. Dominant white can be leaky.

here is an update. the chicks that were white, some remained white with the odd black feathers like a paint silkie. one has a white base and red lacing(leaky red). I had one chick hatch the was brown but changed to a blue laced with leaky red

I didn't keep any of the black spotted but I am using the roo and white with leaky red pullet back on BLR to improve type.
