White plymouth rock pullets for the freezer

I've got 25 fry pan specials from Meyer. At 5 weeks the largest, by far, are the White Rocks; then Barred Rocks, then Buff Orps, then RIR. They do seem to have a meat bird look to me. Hopefully that bodes well.

So maybe I will just keep these hens as layers and wait on the meat bird thing! I dont know if I'm allowed ducks or not, but that might be a good thought. And thanks again to all those who shared their experience

I looked into the Red and Black broilers, the problem is they are sold st. run, I live in the city and we are not allowed to keep roos. I know they can start crowing pretty early and I don't want to lose the "privelege" of keeping my birds

I have 8 of these White rock pullets coming, I'm just hoping I can get em into the 2-3-4 lb. range by 12-13 weeks! A lofty goal. My chicks have to be penned inside and out. Their coop is in my garage and they have a dog pen outside for fresh air. Unfortunately, free-ranging is a no-no around here too. Meaties might not work so well for me, haha.
