White puss discharge in week old chick?

I have a week old chick that has constant white puss coming from rearend. Also is breathing heavy. Not sure what to do. Any help?

Sorry about your baby. Soak this baby's butt in warm water a couple times a day and then dry her off so she doesn't get cold. Put some apple cider vinegar in their waterer. 3/4 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to one quart of water. Use a plastic waterer only. Change this solution every day and make new. All of your babies can aid from drinking this water as well.

She can stay with the others as long as nobody is picking on her.

Keep us posted on this baby! I hope this will heal her up soon.

Thanks for reply. I've washed her and added vinegar to water. I also rubbed vaseline on there to hopefully ease cleaning. Do you know why vinegar, just wondering. Thanks again.

Use apple cider vinegar only. ACV will help to raise the PH of the body. A more alkaline system helps to kill off bacteria and fungal infections. ACV is very popular in the chicken world and is highly recommended to give your adult flock some ACV a few times a month to keep the PH up in the body.

It also contains lots of trace minerals, increases appetite, helps to gloss up the feathers and helps to reduce any inflammation in the body.

You might be keeping your brooder too hot if you are seeing pasty butt and heavy breathing. Raise your heat lamp and point it into one corner only so they have a cool area to move into when they feel too hot.
