White quail are trouble

The chicks that are reddish and brown did get picked on at first, but now they all get along. The well behaved ones get more attention, and ours seem to be attention hounds😆.they have started running over the runts, so we may put them into the second brooder today. No overt acts of aggression, just not accommodating the tiny ones. They are feathering at the same rate as the others, just small.
Baby quail are generally clueless. Most outgrow the self-centeredness, but I have one adult that still runs over the others to get what she wants.

I had a couple of my white girls that started causing trouble! Quail jail was already being used for a couple chicks I hatched out in a test batch. Sold the one girl but was left with a white bird we couldn't tell what sex it was. I put the naughty adult white hens in with unknown four week old white and it turned out to be a roo. Which we discovered instantly as he immediately mounted and mated with the adults! At four weeks old! I've been checking the eggs the past week and they are fertile. Four weeks old - that made me laugh. He's polite about it so I'll give him that much.

Funny. At least now you know how to sex a white male at 4 weeks😉

I have several pure Whites (not Jumbos), and they are real trouble makers.

The roos are very aggressive, attacking my Hand, when filling the feeders. And the hens are super nervous, running and jumping around, when I am near the hutch.

But my guess is, that it is the breeding line. They are not such common (talking about pure Whites, not dotted Whites), and the breeders select them more for exebition related attributes, not so much for beeing calm. That is the problem.

Aggression I experienced for all color types here and there. These little birds can be real Raptors
