I stopped in today to my local Agway, and got some info on the chicks that will be there next weekend!! I'm very excited!! Well the hand out that they were giving said that they would have RIR's, Barred Rocks, Red Sexlinks, and White Rocks........from my understanding, breeding the RIR and the Barred Rocks, you get the Red Sexlink???.........now where's a White Rock come from? Just curious....thanks!

Crossing a RIR rooster on barred rock hens give you Black sexlinks, not Red Sexlinks

What do you mean about the white Rocks ? Are you asking how they were created ?

Quote:
Yep, Barred Rocks were the original Plymouth Rock variety, and over years of breeding them, the recessive white sports popped up and were worked with and that is how the White Rocks came about, most all the old recessive white breeds, like Javas, Giants, Wyandottes, etc have the same story.
