This is my white silkie and it is now 5 1/2 weeks. I know this breed is really hard to tell if it is a male or female. Please help. I know there are people out there who can tell with wing shape and penciling. Please explain to me how and how it all works! If you need pics of the wings, please let me know. These are just profile pictures. What do all you silkie fans think? Thanks so much! You guys are a life saver.. without BYCers I'd be lost!

Sorry these pics. are shaky... The chicks are in an outdoor run and I really couldn't catch the chick. This is the best I got!
Thanks to everyone in advance!

Way too early to tell. And, I don't know of sexing silkies by wing shape or anything like that. Some of us can do it by crest (which yours doesn't have yet), but most you just have to wait and see.

I will. I'm betting yours is a roo. With my silkies I've noticed that the comb area on a male is wider and goes higher up the face (up to the eyes) than on a female even before a comb begins to show. I've gotten pretty good at telling by week 3 to 4 which is which.

85% sure you have a boy. That comb is pretty big and his hairdo is spiky like my male silkies were.
