White spots on BCM?

I have 2 six-week old BCM cockerels. Recently this one developed some white spots on his chest. Is this normal for a pure BCM? The other cockerel doesn’t have it.

The person I bought the eggs from did tell me that her fence had come down in a storm and there was a small chance her Delaware roo could have hooked up with the BCM ladies- Could that be what happened here or do some BCMs have white spots?

Unrelated- I’m going to be rehoming/selling/swapping him regardless. I just want want to be honest with whomever takes him from me.

Any Black Copper Marans experts out there?

It's not barring so not from any Delaware influence. I have seen a few pure Marans that develop white feathers as juveniles then molt them out by maturity, so although not common it happens. there seems to be a mixed feedback on if it's genetic or environmental

I had this same thing happen! My cockerel is still molting them out, but they have been coming out slowly but surely

Thats a great question! Because I had the same one. I purchased some BCM hatching eggs and noticed one cockerel with white flecks on his chest and shoulder but only on one side!

My cockerel has already molted the white spots out! Yours will do the same I bet! ( mine is 9weeks, 10 weeks on 4-4-2024)

My two BCM cockerels had whiteon them as chicks and molted it out very quickly.
