I truly enjoy all the shared input in this community for chickens. It has helped us immensely since we started our journey from eggs to egg layers.
Today we received a surprise. Our first egg. We do not know who laid it as it was in the coope walkway not a nesting box. We now put in the fake eggs inside the nesting boxes to help our girls know where to go.
My concern is the calcium spots. They all appear healthy. Eat every day. We change their water. Still on grower food as we did not think they wouldnt start laying until the end of this month or next. Should I worry about the spots on our first eggs? Is there any way to pin point whose it is? We have a variety of girls. One Asian Black and one Golden Comet (both around 18 weeks), one Mottled Houdan, one Silkie and one White Polish (around 15 weeks) and one EE (around 14 weeks). We know its not the EE.
