Whiting True Blue egg.

Congratulations!!
The first eggs are always exciting and the blue ones even more.

This is a picture of when I got a second blue egg, i.e. when a second araucana pullet laid her first egg. Mine are cute but soooo tiny for the moment 20180917_192707.jpg

All my chickens are now 22 weeks old, and none of them are laying yet. 5 of them are Whiting's. We've had a horribly hot summer and I'm sure that's why. They are outside under the trees in deep shade, and are doing fine other than no eggs. My rooster has started to mount them and I thought that was a sure sign, but nuthin'! Any ideas?

What are you feeding them?
Are they locked up until at least 8 each morning?

Still waiting on my WTB (Jan 6/24wks) ... The WTGs started laying at 20wks, everyday, one before 8am & the other around 11am. Although insist on the poop board as a nest, so I cover it with plastic so she's going in the nest box, hopefully someday she'll get it. One lays "green" while the other lays pink/brown eggs, they are consistent layers for sure.
