So I went to order some buff Orpington and they were out so they offered me some whiting true blue pullets anyone raised these chickens befor?

I have two and am disappointed in the egg color. True blue -Not! tinted blue tinted blueish greenish maybe. Having been spoiled with heritage breeds in my suburban backyard. I have been annoyed with 1. they are light weight can and do fly very well, right over the fence. 2. Not as predator savvy as heritage breeds but smart enough to learn to copy smarter birds. 3. because they are small they get picked on . They do produce a lot of blueish greenish eggs. In my opinion more of a confinement production bird than backyard. I will not be getting anymore.

Well Golden Comets are considered production birds. Whitings true blue do produce well. Maybe that will work for you. I have Buff Orpingtons they take care of Whitings True Blue. I have sen my Orpingtons deliberately throw food to them so they have something to eat and let the true blue cuddle up to them in the cold. I can't say enough good things about Buff Orpingtons.

the Orpington I have were given to me from a owner who never handled them and has two roosters that were very hard on the hens, I love their natural instincts and toughness but mine have issues lol! I think my Wyandotte’s,and astralorps fit into the Orpington flock and I will keep my hybrid producers with my cuckoo maran rooster! Choices choices choices!
