Ok! So when walking by or feeding them, do NOT look at your ducks. Pretty much ignore them, it’s hard, but worth it in the end. Later when you can walk by them with out the ducks moving, you can start looking at them. This is the first step!! I do this with all my ducks who are scared of me!!
Well, it’s hard to explain, but they really don’t mind me looking at them. They come within a few feet of me when they eat. They just won’t hand-feed or let me touch them.

Ok! Sometimes certain ducks like eating from the ground instead of from your hand. You just need to spend a TON of time with them.

That’s hard to do because I really don’t know how to make spending time with them fun and enjoyable for both me and them, but I’ll try my very best!

Thank you for listening to all my whining and complaining, I didn’t mean to unload on you :hugs

This may sound dumb, but talking to them always works to or reading a book to them! I would read my school books to all by ducks.

You’re welcome!! I don’t view it has being whiny or complaining at all :) I really enjoy helping people out when I can 😊

Thank you, that means so much to me.The other day I actually sat down in their shelter with them and *with a soft tone of voice, of course* talked to them about stuff, and they quacked back. They didn’t freak out, but they crowded in the opposite corner and kinda gave me a look like “when are you gonna leave” so that’s what sort of discouraged me. 😞

I really need to keep doing that.

The more you do it the more they will get used to you!! I have felt disappointed, discouraged, etc. but never game up!!

To tell you, I had this one duck who was so scared of me, like, it was crazy and it made me sad because I love all my animals friendly. Anyway, she was always scared, even as a duckling. I kept minding my own business, but slowly trying to get her used to my company. When she was probably 2-3 years old, she started to get used to me and come eat out of my hand!! Unfortunately, the duck got sick and died shortly after… I worked so hard to get her tame, but it payed off because when she was sick, I was able to help without her being freaking out! It didn’t end how I wanted, but she did, in the end, become a friendly duck!

It can take a while for them to get used to you, but I promise it is worth it in the end!!!

Hey Margo! Were you gone to go put the animals to bed?
Yup! The goats were being EXTRA cheeky!
