No, all chickens are different for laying eggs. Yours look to be the right size. Coco was just an earlier layer.
Thanks for the reassurance. I just get worried sometimes. Even if they stop growing, I will have unique Cochins! According to this picture, my Cochins only need about 3 pounds left to grow.

The same age as Coco.
Oh ok. How do you know if coco is laying? Did you see her?

Maybe. Just maybe, my Cochins might have layed an egg. 3 times in the last month, I found 1 egg on the floor. Maybe they can’t reach to the nesting bodes, but they do have a ladder. Do chickens sometimes just lay eggs on the floor? Maybe while dust bathing?

Now that I think about it, Oreo did dust bathe pretty close to where an Egg or 2 were found.. but then that means they should still be laying now.

Yes, we have seen her lay eggs.

Sometimes new layers will lay on the ground, but not all the time. One of our langshans lays on the perch. You won’t know until you see them do it.

Seriously though, there is absolutely nothing wrong with your Cochins. They are right on track. Cochins are supposed to be late layers. Coco is just unique. Our other three haven’t shown any interest in laying whatsoever, and that is fine.

Thanks For reassuring me🥰

I was kind of getting worried when I heard Coco was laying, but it’s alright now. Any chances and already laying here, that usually lays in the nesting boxes, will lay on the floor from time to time?

Sorry for so many question, but how do I know which eggs are from a Cochin? The look like any other egg. I asked this just for fun, but thanks for any help!

Yes, we have experienced hens lay on the ground sometimes. Not sure why they do it, but they do.

Coco lays small purple-pinkish colored eggs. Maybe yours will too? Asking questions is perfectly alright! I don’t mind answering them at all!:hugs
