The more you do it the more they will get used to you!! I have felt disappointed, discouraged, etc. but never game up!!

To tell you, I had this one duck who was so scared of me, like, it was crazy and it made me sad because I love all my animals friendly. Anyway, she was always scared, even as a duckling. I kept minding my own business, but slowly trying to get her used to my company. When she was probably 2-3 years old, she started to get used to me and come eat out of my hand!! Unfortunately, the duck got sick and died shortly after… I worked so hard to get her tame, but it payed off because when she was sick, I was able to help without her being freaking out! It didn’t end how I wanted, but she did, in the end, become a friendly duck!

It can take a while for them to get used to you, but I promise it is worth it in the end!!!

Both the chickies and the ducks are getting story-time tomorrow!

I just squat down, and either Punkin, Dominique, or a few other hens, will come up to me and peck me. They will then try to get me to pick them up or they will even jump up on my leg.

You should try it sometime. Just cuddle them for like 10 minutes each, and maybe they’ll do the same thing to you! It’s all about bonding.
