I found this egg, under my broody with the fertile eggs OF COURSE
, Because the others have no where else to lay obviously
. My thought is my Salmon Fav, Sammy... The only problem I have with that is that she had stopped laying for me, and then she got attacked by a dog, and is currently healing. Her leg got hurt, so she is currently "grounded", and I have yet to see her fly up onto anything, including the roost and nesting boxes. She's actually just starting to go back outside when I open the coop up in the morning. Oh, it's also a completely different shape than what Sammy was laying before.
My other girls are black australorps (the comparison eggs), and I also have a silkie, an EE (both are still pretty young - about 3.5/4 months), and 3 serama hens (although the egg is just about 1/2 their size
so I'm seriously doubting that it's one of theirs - OUCH!). Here are some pics:
ETA: This was found under my broody who DOES NOT move off her eggs for anything, so Her plus my salmon fav would probably have broken at least one egg - nothing was broken.
