Weasel or mink for sure, they kill for the sport.

and they are very difficult to get rid of or to trap.

Hmm mink or weasle...not sure if we have those where I live...If it was a coon, they'd probably be decapitated. Plus, my 25 pound dog probably couldn't scare a coon away...Chunks of the chickens' sides/ back were ripped out and strewn around but not eaten. I have coyotes and kit foxes around where I live. Could it have been one of those?
