Who Do You Think Is The Friendliest? Bantam and Standard

You guys are making me too EXCITED for my chicks to get here, they are light brahamas, silkies(blue), Orpingtons, Cochin(splash) and White sultans. So far all of the breeds I have chosen, beside the sultans are on the friendliest list YAY

Delawares, by far! They come up for a chest rub, and they give hugs!

I think the friendliest of all my birds are the standard cochins. My rooster Dutch has raised 4 chicks without a hen in the pen, allowed a very tiny OEGB rooster to take up residence with them and loves to be held. Even my granddaughter can carry him around. He is a hand full thou lol I can even pick up the hens when broody and they purr

I have a little Old English Bantam hen that is so sweet she can be a pest at times. She loves to be near you and will fly up on your shoulder. One of my other most friendly bantams is a barnyard mutt that is a cross of Araucana and Cochin. I have a pure Aracucana roo that is pretty friendly also. As for the standard sizes I've found my barnyard mix hens are the friendliest ones of all. I have a Blue Orp. roo that super sweet also.

I only have standards, and I think it depends more on the individual than the breed sometimes.

My friendliest birds are an EE and a Speckled Sussex, though I have two more EEs and another Sussex that want nothing to do with me. My Brahmas are also a favorite, they are very calm and sweet and usually come lumbering across the yard to me as soon as they hear the gate open.

I also have Red and Black Stars and White Rocks, curious birds but not really cuddly.

Definitely my Buttercups and Dark Cornish girls. They are all standards, but out of the five breeds I own, they are the ones that approach the quickest for a scratch and a snuggle. I have one Buttercup that loves to fly up and perch on my shoulder and settle down to roost there for a few moments each time I enter the pen. And I have one Dark Cornish who loves to have her chest scratched and her back stroked. My Buff Orpingtons are tolerant, but they much prefer trying to eat my clothes or ring rather than being picked up and held. Certainly, the Wyandottes are tolerant, but aloof. The Partridge Rocks are always skittish and make loud unhappy noises when picked up, though I keep working on getting them used to handling.
