who else has eggs cooking???


put in a long double yolked egg to see what happens. I had the space, but I am a realist and know Double yolk and odd shaped ones don't hatch.

Some day I would love to get one of those bators.  The LG seems to take a lot of maintenance to keep it going right


I would highly recomend the Brinsea especially with the humidity pump. Is a totally set and forget incubator that has produced me some great results. Apart from candling there is no need to open it. It also has the cool down feature that replicates the hen leaving the nest everyday. Easily achieves the 65% for lockdown. The only thing you have to do is add water to the tank under the pump about once per week.
 
What day do you toss the bad eggs? 14? I have three I'm almost 100% sure are duds at day 10, but they're brown ones and they're tough to see through.
 
I had a really dark egg, maran. and all her other eggs were duds. I didn't know it had anything growing till after day ten when I could see at least the air cell was the same as other developing eggs. and she hatched!
 
I don't remove any untill day 14 just incase. Dark ones are more difficult and could slip by as duds but really are ok. Have read of many people removing eggs only to crack them open and find a viable chick. Always better to be safe than sorry.
