I've got RIR and EE eggs due 5/1, Silkies due 5/6, Silkies,Silkie/Polish crosses, and some other odds n ends due 5/8 and Tolbunt Polish that I just set today, due 5/13..all are shipped except the RIR and EEs, but I'm really holding my breath on the Tolbunts..out of 18 I'd LOVE to get a 50% hatch but honestly if I got one roo n one hen I'd probably consider it totally worth it..lol..

I don't know how many I have incubated. I started in February and have 12 left in the second incubator but I don't think I could ever come close to some of you guys, I am ready for a break lol

Lol.. I swore when I put away the bator last fall , that I would not hatch this year..then my RIR and EEs started laying..so of course I thought "well just a few to add to layers".. then had a friend switching out breeders in her Silkie pens, so I got the last of her fertiles. .then had a great lady offer me a deal I couldn't refuse on some more Silkies..then found a deal I couldn't pass up for the Tolbunts..here I am now with a second incubator (remember now, my first wasn't even supposed to come out of storage this year ).. and I'm already looking forward to setting more...lol..welcome to incubators anonymous ♡♡

I put a batch of chicks in my incubator, and I was going to sell some to a friend, when the time go closer I called her and decided to keep.

I have 21 light sussex cooking day 8 waiting till day 10 to candle this is my first time and finding it very hard not to candle them tonight

That is my weakness..if there was a way for me to candle around the clock and watch the entire time I'd never get anything done.. I have staggered hatches, so anytime its time to candle one set I always give the others a peek..the only time I wont mess with them is if its days 3-5 because its just too big of a risk imo..

I have 8 rose comb brown leghorns due on monday and 6 black copper marans due on friday,but i am not counting my chickens before they hatch,i have 2 broodys sitting on them,all is well so far.One thing i noticed is that they are switching nests between bathroom breaks,they will rotate nests,they are both in the same area but have seperate nests?,i hope it wont be a problem when they hatch as there is 4 days between them?.
