I agree with this. I would put my money on it being dogs that did the damage to your flock llxll00llxll. I would not want anyone to jump to a conclusion that it's something else...that would not solve the problem. The dog/s (or whatever it was), will return.
At the risk of sounding like the devil's advocate, I've said this before and I will say it again. My pets/livestock are MY responsibility and I have to do all I can to insure their safety. I know I have to deal with predators and I try to be smarter than them. If need be I will destroy the predator but I know that if I don't secure my pets/livestock, to the best of my ability, and it still gets hurt or dies, due to that...I cannot blame the predator.
It is just doing what comes natural to them. They are not out to get me, cause me financial or emotional ruin.
That said, I don't *HATE* coyotes...I RESPECT them. I have to realize they were here first and *I* am the intruder, not them. Still, I don't *LOVE* them either...but, I have to learn to live with that risk - of them being here.
If I let my dog...or cat out and I know there are coyotes out about that could possibly take my pet, I have only ME to blame. I have two indoor cats and I just don't take that chance. If I do, whether by negligence or by accident (I realize they do happen)...I'll cry and get mad but, I don' blame the coyote.

PS I know I'll probably not make many friends by saying this but I get a bit put off when folks blame (or HATE) a predator for being...well, a predator!
