Who else is getting chicks tomorrow at TSC??

I was a sucker and decided to stop into Tractor Supply see if they had filled the remaining 4 out of 6 empty bins with chicks, and they still had the Cornish Cross and Easter Eggers, but they had gotten in Pekin ducklings!

Well, I picked out 8 lively ducklings but couldn't walk past the crying babies in the Easter Egger bin without giving some a good home...so I picked out 14 more. So, the chicken math is beginning....I picked up 7 EE chicks yesterday, and then 8 ducklings and 14 EE chicks today...hmmmm I want to go back Friday after I know they will have them all!

I'm really set on getting some other breeds of large fowl but also a good assortment of bantams

I have $26.54 on me. And the chicks are $2.50 each. So I can get 10 chicks!

I'm going to get 5 BR's and 5 RIR's. I might even get a couple SLW's and a Batnam Cochin.

It depends on what breeds they have available.

my store got them yesterday, has anyone heard of a chicken breed that has the word tetra in it?I went to tsc today and they have that kind but i forgot the last word in the name?

I went to TSC to pick up horse feed and, of course, I had to swing by the chick bins. They had White Rocks and something else '... red'. It didn't say Rhode Island Red, I forget just what it said but it was something generic, not a specific breed name. Anyway...I had no trouble at all looking and then walking on to the horse feed aisle...cause I know I am getting my SLW's this Saturday! Yay!

We have to buy 12 in NH, state rules. So i will not be getting day olds for my broody... too sad.. especially since i was told that they were going to have a HUGE assortment this year....

Wow, that's awful. You were right to complain.

Our local TSC wasn't like that at all. I used to stop by the chicks throughout last summer and they were always kept in clean bin and were always active and healthy looking with clean bedding and water. I brought some home on monday and they are in great shape.

Hubby said we NEEDED a larger feeder for the TajMahal of brooders in our garage that they'll be in by the end of the week or beginning of next...
(I didnt tell him I could MAKE one w/containers here tho!) lol...However..he said NO MORE CHICKS...not even white layers now...

but he wont get angry he'll just roll his eyes at me...BUT..someone on here said I had to isolate the new chicks from the 9 day old ones???
I dont have a second brooder inside!!!
