Who else is setting... I wanna see pics!

Redhead, I use to RIR's but mine got very agressive, just got rid of them to a friend that took all of them about 1mo ago. I miss them they are beautiful!!!

I dont open my bator to add water, I add water with a Srygine and a IV cath attached to the end of that, and have a tiny holes in the small hole in the bator, that it already had....

I thought about rigging something sorta similar, don't have access to IVs. My reds are big cuddle bugs, even both my boys. They're still a bit young though. They won't be 1 yr old until Jan. but I go out and 'play' with them every day so hopefully they don't go nuts on me, though peckerhead did try to attack hubby when I went out of town for a couple days, but he doesn't exactly spend much time around them lol

Today is day 18 for me too. I am going to wait until afternoon and see if I get any more buttons. I have a bit over 50% hatch rate right now.

Then I will be looking at everyone's pictures....mine will be a bit later....

try seeing if they have that in a drug store or even walmart, not sure about the needle part (Cath)...if your not familiar with this, its:

IV CATH...the one's they use to start an IV, when they start your IV, they pull out the needle and the CATH stays in you to administer fluids. Since Im a medic, I have access to them. if you cant find it in the stores, maybe if you go down to your local EMS station and tell them why you want it, and you can even tell them they can take the needle out and keep it, this way you dont look like a drug user...

As to the hose, its one of those extra hoses and nozzles that come with our bottle cleaners, it hadnt been used so I just measured and cut off a piece that I needed....inserted in through the hole in the top of my bator, this way I dont open it.

Well when I got rid of my RIR Roos...my Big Daddy, beautiful leghorn, you can see him if you click on my babies,...he got like he was the "man"...so recently he started coming at me, pushing me...flies up and then pushes me...I was shocked at first, now I watch him, Ive given him a few whacks to show him, IM ALPHA!!...lol, and he wathces me and run at times...

Your roo is beautiful!!!
I've also heard that RIRs can be a bit aggressive.
I have one RIR hen. She follows me around like a puppy. I've always thought the RIR roos were pretty, but was afraid of getting a mean one.
The only mature boys we have right now are silkies. They are the ultimate sweethearts.

for the fuzzy butts! lol I think I need to keep myself occupied looking at fuzzy butt pics till mine start to pip. Once they start pipping then I'll probably just have my face glued to the bator window lol
2txmedics thanks for the advice. I have quite a few EMT friends and it honestly didn't even cross my mind to ask them lol I'll give it a shot after these guys hatch, I don't wanna disturb the bator anymore at all, I think I've got enough water in it now to get em through the hatch, hopefully, and if not it only takes me a few seconds to get the water refilled.

You can also get tubing like that at an aquarium section in a pet store, and I got my syringe from my chemist to give my human babies liquid medicine.
I used a drinking straw and syringe.

farrier! :
