Who else is setting... I wanna see pics!

Up until now, I just had my LG. It worked just fine, but I wanted something a little less, um, intensive. Now I don't feel the need to check the 'bator 12x daily!
I never expected DH to buy me a 'bator. That was the biggest surprise!
BTW... those are some beautiful dark brown eggs. What are they?

farrier! :

Here is the bator with the auto turner and the eggs with detached air sacks. I also thought Brahma's eggs were dark brown....
I just added 62 button quail eggs!!!!!

I love your quail egg set up... cute design!
Do the shipped eggs have abbreviations & numbers on the tops? They should all say something like LB2 or LB7.
Did you patch & set any of the cracked eggs?
I'm giving mine a chance... I figure, what's the dif if I pitch them on arrival or on day 7?

Mine were really cracked. I could not even get 3 of them out of the carton. They had oozed and glued in there.
They were just too bad to fix.

I bought an indoor/outdoor thermometer with a high/low alarm off of ebay. So now I have the thermometer/hydrometer in with the second bator and the sensor for the readout that is sitting on my desk. Things are happily reading the same now that I raised the remote sensor 1/4 inch.

The eggs are marked as LB's but sure are not colored the same or like my last Brahma eggs. My quail are laying a bit but I only have room for 3-4 more eggs....maybe they will hold off until the other bator hatches..

That's too bad about the glued eggs.

I guess mine didn't have to travel as far. 4 just had cracks and one was pretty smashed, but I don't think the membrane was torn. Most of them have at least partially detached air cells.
That guy's PO person must have been having a bad day when our eggs were shipped!
As far as the color of your eggs...
My 2 eggs labelled Aracauna: one is beige, one is pale green.
My 2 marans eggs: (letters "D" & "E") are the same and lighter than my own barred rock eggs.
But, hey, they were inexpensive and he has pretty birds. The mille fleur d'uccle I got from him is beautiful. She's about 3 months old & her feathering is perfect.
Is your white egg labelled LB as well?

Soooo about 59 + the peaeggs Paganbird?

My little broody isn't eating. I took her some scrambled eggs today and she wouldn't touch them. I don't think I've seen her off the nest in two days - but I could be wrong.

Just a "few" of a couple different breeds... that's what I told DH.
I don't think he needs to know a "total." Besides... not all of them will hatch, of course! (Right?)

She's probably getting up to eat when you're not around. Why else would she refuse scrambled egg? She just doesn't want you peeking at her eggs.

Yes they are all labeled LB. I will candle around day 10 and see if any of them are developing..

Do you have a picture of the mille?
Did you contact him yet? I did get a refund. Unless someone says he has changed his packing methods I will not take a chance again.

I am really happy with my 40+ button eggs.... (62!)

Does everyone else candle much?

LOL
I may just need to make more pens.
I think I have just a few days to get a bigger brooder pen made. I need to get my other quail out of the house!
It is one the list for tomorrow.

I have visions of chicks in the incubator waiting for me to make the pen!!!!

At least I did buy wire.
