Who else is setting... I wanna see pics!

he/she(hopefully) kept tripping over not only it's feet but the unnecessarily long cord that came with my thermometer/hygrometer so I set it up in the brooder and it's happy and asleep now, still wobbly as all heck and not quite walking yet but I'm sure that will take a lil' bit of time. And I JUST heard another peep come from the incubator, maybe I'll wake up to another surprise

Next hatch I'll just make a separate hatcher

I suppose you can add me to the list of hatching this week. I didn't realize it before, but I have 5 eggs from my BTW japs due to hatch on Friday. There are 3 that are already pushing against the membrane, so they should be out tomorrow. The other 2 still have veins, but not a whole lot of movement, so idk about them.

Hopefully all the eggs are japs, and not dutch mixes. I have 1 dutch hen that lays an identical egg as the japs, and hers get mistaken for japs quite often!

its now midnight and only rocking, and pips!!! Im tired guess I will have a few gifts in the morning just like christmas...I really love seeing them hatch, figures this is happening....

Hopefully this means I'll have at least a 50% hatch, I'm just happy I got one out of it lol

Well three of my first batch of "wonder what it is" chicks are hatching. A fourth pipped through or scratched through it's own yolksac and died, yellow ooze out the pip.

They appear to be dark. So delaware/barred rock, or sizzle/barred rock, or sizzle/delaware - they were small brown pullet eggs, so delaware/sizzle over my barred rock pullet that had just begun to lay or one of the del pullets that just started laying. I know all the full grown girl's eggs. LOL adventure chickens.

Go chicks go!

I watched for a little bit, no sounds, before I left the shop, one tiny pip..wonder if I caught them in between pip/rockin' and rest...or they were sleeping...*heavy sigh*

LOL!
I love it!

Good morning all! I'm jealous of all of you with pips! I have 2 more cortunix out this morning, but no chicken pips.
It's only day 20, but since these chick eggs have issues (the cracks and tremulous air cells) I don't expect them all to hatch. I'm down to 8 that have the potential to hatch. I would love the salmon faverolles to hatch. Then I wouldn't mind the d'uccles to hatch, either. With my luck, the brown EE egg will hatch. What's so special about an EE if it lays brown eggs? It's probably a roo, too!
The green EE egg is in "intensive care" hatching. I kept it in the incubator, on the hatching shelf, where the temp is 99.5. The other eggs are in the hatcher which is set at 97.5.
Oh!!
Another little cortunix just popped out! Looks like my 2nd Tibetan!
