Still no chicks on the 'outside', but my first pip is making progress.

Be careful with your weeping egg. Its like a stick of Dynomite thats weeping Nitro cause its too old. It WILL EXPLODE. lol. And it AINT pretty..

My buttons haven't pipped yet. I'm going to set the cortunix in the 'bator before I go to bed. We spent all day today trying to situate accomodations for all the chicks hatching as well as the 6 "teen" chickens in the barn, 2 peas in the home office, and single mutt chick that's in a hutch beside the peas.
The ridiculous mutt chick hates chickens... she thinks she's a pea. She doesn't shut up unless she's with the peas. I tried putting her in with her hatch mates, but she flipped out & they attacked her. That's why she's in with the peas to begin with - she had been pecked nearly to death for no apparant reason.
I call her a mutt, but I just don't know what she is. She's all white. Came from a med white egg. I don't know white egg layers.
We just call her "Psycho Chick."
So, I think Psycho & the Peas are going to the den in separate cages. Teen chicks in with the Big Girls. All new hatchlings in the house 'till 6 weeks or so... then... Cortunix to the barn, chicken chicks & guinea to "chick nursery" in the big coop, buttons probably will stay in the house. 5 candled clear, so I'm expecting 10 or less to hatch. They won't take up much room.

That is my worst fear!

I hear most people vomit when that happens.

Look on the bright side, though...
At least it didn't explode in your 'bator.

Oh how terrible! I caught an accidental whiff when I was throwing it away and even that was unpleasant... I can't imagine an explosion!!

Gag. There is no doubt that I am one of the people who would dry heave! (Is that an 'overshare'?)

Hopefully I wake up to at least one chick tomorrow morning

I honestly thought about Moving the bator outside and burning the house down to get rid of the smell. lol. But an ENTIRE roll of paper towels, half a bottle of 409, an entire bottle of Fabreez and a dozen shots of Capt. Morgans got me thru it and it aint so bad now. lol.
im getting ready to move the eggs out of the turner. Im EXCITED.. I just hope they all do ok since i wont be here when they start pipping in a few days...
