My buttons haven't pipped yet. I'm going to set the cortunix in the 'bator before I go to bed. We spent all day today trying to situate accomodations for all the chicks hatching as well as the 6 "teen" chickens in the barn, 2 peas in the home office, and single mutt chick that's in a hutch beside the peas.
The ridiculous mutt chick
hates chickens... she thinks she's a pea. She doesn't shut up unless she's with the peas. I tried putting her in with her hatch mates, but she flipped out & they attacked her. That's why she's in with the peas to begin with - she had been pecked nearly to death for no apparant reason.
I call her a mutt, but I just don't know what she is. She's all white. Came from a med white egg. I don't know white egg layers.
We just call her "Psycho Chick."
So, I think Psycho & the Peas are going to the den in separate cages. Teen chicks in with the Big Girls. All new hatchlings in the house 'till 6 weeks or so... then... Cortunix to the barn, chicken chicks & guinea to "chick nursery" in the big coop, buttons probably will stay in the house. 5 candled clear, so I'm expecting 10 or less to hatch. They won't take up much room.
