Here's an update. I woke up to this hatch this morning. It wasn't going very fast so I went to do some chores

I will be starting some EE eggs in the morning. I'm getting the bator set today. These are from my own hen. I only have one pair and want more. So i'm starting off with 6 eggs. I don't want to leave them laying around too long and I don't want different hatch dates in one bator.

Just as i suspected.... temps werent right when i got home. They were 96.8 in the inc. So i cranked up the dial. I dont get why taking the turner out changed the temps that much. And my humidity is actually 67%

anyway, ill be keeping a close eye on it to make sure it doesnt fluctuate too much. I wish i had a decent incubator. I want to get some Law Grey eggs and try to hatch them out. I think they are beautiful birds.
Oh, and i went to a members chicken farm last weekend and she had some pheasants that were AMAZING. They were more colorful than any Parrot i hve ever seen. I want some of them now. lol.

67% is a decent humidity... I keep mine around 65 - 70% and when they start hatching, the mosture caused during the hatch will raise your humidity anyway.
Also... If you're on lockdown, temps don't have to be as high. I have a couple books that suggest hatching at about 95 degrees.
My hatcher is currently around 97 degrees, so don't worry too much about the "low" hatching temp. Anything above 95 degrees should be just fine.

a decent bator? what kind of bator do you have? I have an LG9200 and its awesome at temps/humidity....I still need to clean my hovabators out...but Im not putting eggs until after I come back from kansas first week of Oct...I think....

Its an LG somthing or another, forced air, egg turner, seems great on the outside and stats, but it doesnt seem to hold a decent temp, (that might be my therm i have... i do need to change that)... but when i pour water in, half pours out on the floor. lol.
It was free to me, so i cant complain... And the chicks are still developing. I just want a set and forget system.... not that i would forget it, but somthing i dont have to worry about all the time. arrrg
