Who else is setting... I wanna see pics!

i have a cochan mix setting on so borrowed eggs she decided to be broody so I found her some eggs my rooster is not old enough yet he is only about 16 weeks old and has not started crowing yet?
she has five eggs and I have 3 more inside in a homemade incubator and two look like they are growing! but I read last night online not to have eggs under just a light bulb like I have because uneven heat can cause problems that bothered me I was just doing it to see if we could hatch some out I would hate to think I caused them to be abnormal!

has anyone heard of this I think I am keeping them a good temp and it even.

I have a total of at least 175 eggs in the homemade + hovabator...I am positive that not all the eggs will hatch...LOL But, I am guessing about half or so.will, if I am lucky..yeah...what am I gonna do with all these chicks?? DH just built a bigger coop....we may just have to eventually add onto that one as well! LOL

You don't realize until it's too late...
For a year, I had 16 hens. Then I bought an LG incubator. Next thing I knew I had about 60 chickens. Two extra coops and some "give-aways" later, I'm down to 36 chickens, 2 peafowl, and everything currently in the 'bator.
Sadly, there is no cure.

I'd say it would only make it worse...next thing you know it'll be quail, guineas, and any random egg you can find I'm sure lol

I GOT A PIP!!!!!

and 3 are wiggling around. It's hard to catch the movement because they're in egg cartons. at first i thought i was seeing things, then as i was chirping to them a few minutes ago, 3 of them wiggled . and one of the wigglers is pipping

. it's not much, a teeny tiny little triangular piece of shell is poking out, but hey it's something! and it definately wasn't there earlier. Oh, my....I can't believe it, it's really HAPPENING!!!! (can you tell this is my first hatch ...lol) hope everything goes right

humidity is good all the water trays are full, oh, please, oh, please come on little peeps, make it out okay

I ended up with 11, one died, so ten total, healty fuzzy butts. im excited. And what a mix up of breeds. lol. Ill post some good pictures tommorow.
