If all the others are done, I'd be helping it at that point.

Everyone one else seems done....I might just run to town...then that will be a few more hours. Older ones are all fluffed out.

farrier! :

If it's pipped & alive, I'd give it a couple more hours.

OMG I have made a rather Large huge giant mistake... I fired up the antique redwood bator, finished rewiring it and started running it to check it.

Ummmm gee, solid temps between 99.5 and 100.2 gosh fifteen eggs LOOK REALLY lonely in there.... it holds 600 or so... ummm oh dear....

I don't see a problem...

Ok, still hatching here...question!!!!!

One baby just hatched...first time Ive seen bloody discharge, its mucous with fluids so it looks like reddish clear slim...know it just hatched and Im giving it time, but I noticed it has something coming out if it...not sure but...intestines?...

so I need my experts here...its tiny tiny...the size of a single pea. I took the picture with my cell so its gonna be hard to see, but gives you an idea, other than that looks healthy, and moving ok according to just hatching.

so any ideas???

Do not worry, that's just a little left-over unabsorbed sac, either it will get absorbed or it will dry and fall off. Happens all the time. Just make sure the other chicks aren't after it. I'll often place those chicks in a clear container in with the other chicks, so they can see company but company can't attack the odd thing. Chicks can be rough.

so its not anything to really worry about? I saw a chick trying to peck at the red area, and I placed a wired barrier between them. Its still not up, I guess thats the weaker one right now...but all others are strong....so it will be ok then? Because to me it doesnt look like Yolk...that from what Ive seen is whitish, cream color with yellowish...this is more like the color of a liver.

I hadnt ever had a chick hatch with that in back...and you see the bloody discharge around him]

In the Mean time, I did pull these out as they were dry....have 4 more in my bator that are drying...these little yellow chicks ALL have different mothers and DIFFERNT BREEDS!!! and they all came out YELLOW....your looking at: 2 EE...mom is black/gold/little yellow, A splash Maran, mom is white with black/grey feathered spots, A blue Maran...mom is dark dark grey with nape of neck almost blk but its grayish blue...and then theres the A-lorp...waiting on more of its brothers/sisters...lol

Now from that angle, that might be a problem - the yolksac looks torn - leaking? and the red thing is more than just the interior edge of the yolksac. That could be some external, internal organs. I usually cull them if it's not absorbed in a day. After that they won't go in without some kind of bandage and the chicks don't do well.

I have a question. I had to help 4 chicks out last night bc they were starting to dry up inside the egg. Well, 3 of them are doing wonderfully. I have one that can't walk to well. It scoots. His legs stay straight out in front of him. Is this normal and will it correct itself or is there something I should do to help him/her?

Nevermind...found out what it is...splay leg...

gonna try and fix he(r) up real quick
