I lost track of the quail eggs so last night when I went to turn eggs I had a hatcher full of faces when I opened it. So, 24 last night and 6 this morning.
These guys lived through 2 chicken hatches with no rolling for those days and humidity up and downs for the chickens. This was the first collected hatch from my birds and I am extremely happy with the results!

Side note....I am now on antibiotics, my cold turned into pneumonia. Hopefully life will be better soon.

Farrier yay Fuzzies!!! Stagger hatching is chaotic - lol - what DAY is it??? But usually works out.

I was right the three I'd marked as iffy and due this week were duds.

There's always next week.. LOL.

farrier! :

I can't wait until my chickens finally start laying.
Hopefully next month. I need to build seperate pens for them.....

I need more energy....

Oh dear, more energy? Wouldn't that be a good thing?

The Pyr puppy played with a turkey yesterday, resulting in a half plucked unhappy turkey pullet, now residing in the kitchen. The adult pyr kicked her butt seven ways from sunday and she's very sorry now, poor thing.

Just a bad case of the puppy over exciteds now that she's on a good diet and feeling better. I go out and talk to her about being gentle even when the turkeys are fighting - integrating two groups, always a fun time.

A full grown turkey in a crate indoors is ... more mess to deal with. And it's raining and I cannot go out and finish building the brooder I started, nor wire the bantam coop for a heat light for the seramas at night... grrr... and then there is the energy thing...

Doc shot up my neck and back with botox - which will be helpful about five days from now, right now it's causing MORE spasms. Sitting still for all those shots every three months is a challenge, but long term I've seen a real help from it, so I bite the bullet. I will feel better next week, hopefully then it will also stop raining... stupid weather.

Well I'm up to seven birds and the last maran has a pip. The first maran hatched is a roo

Cute but a roo

The remaining egg doesn't have a pip - could have quit I guess. Perhaps it's a late bloomer.

Well it's of to locate the camera now. All of my children have denied using it.

I am scheduled for injections at a "pain clinic". Not sure how happy I am about it.
Wh is doing the botox that you are happy with or is there some information about it on the web?

Farrier mine are for cervical dystonia and tardive dyskenesia. I get 13 - 15 injections in my neck/shoulders. It's what botox was originally created for.

The first week after is not pleasant but I get a good 10 weeks of relief and functionality before I need it again, usually at 12 weeks. 3 mos is the standard protocol.

I've had pred injections in my shoulder that helped, and some that didn't. Same with different kinds of knee injections.

In general they are worth the attempt, even if unpleasant. And I can say after about a year of these treatments I get a LOT more done, than I was in prior years. My neurologist does my injections. He's good, and fast at least.
