Who else takes their hens on walks?!

Thanks for tagging me! That’s awesome you have a stroller for your hens it seems safer than a harness! I only have one hen that walks on a leash the other one just passed away but Luna my white leghorn has gone many places! She loves the beach and going around the neighborhood (even though she tries to go to every house and find a new home but oh well she’s a very ungrateful hen) sometimes I take her to the park too! On the way home from the beach we stopped at Chick-fil-A one too

That is vey cool! I am going to try to get a hen to go on a harness to take them places but it might be smarter for my hens to just be in a stroller. So with the harness does she struggle and fight if you give her a little tug? Mine will freak out.
Also will she peck at grass constantly or does she actually walk. And lastly... how do you deal with the poop?! My hens, when on walks, will poop twice in ten minutes.

It's the energy discrepancy between the old pug and the young doodle that has made me think of it. The pug is getting to where he can't go for very long walks but of course the younger one can't get enough so I am thinking "why am I doing all this work when dopey doodle has all the energy?"

Hi all!
I own four wonderful hens and I decided that they should see the world so I bought a double-decker stroller (of course it's pink )

I try to take two of my hens on walks everyday and I have definitely gotten some attention from it. On the first day after I walked my chickens my neighbor came up to me and asked, "I don't mean to pry, but were you walking chickens earlier??" I proudly said yes!

At first, three of my hens didn't like it and pooped everywhere but now they usually will lay down and enjoy the little walk. They have even met some huge dogs (bigger than my golden retriever) and didn't freak out too much.

I haven't taken them anywhere that is out of the way but I want to be able to take some on walks to parks but that means being taken into my car and then going on a walk and all that, probably a lot of poop and stress will happen so I am going to keep practicing with them to hopefully get them ready!

I understand that many people might find this stupid but they are my pets! I have always wanted to spend more time with them and not always have to be in my backyard to do that so why not take them on walks! My best hen friend, Eddie, is turning 9 in March and has arthritis in both of her hocks. Due to this, she can't walk much and usually will just wait for me to come and visit her. She especially loves these walks and I love walking her too.

This is great. What a nice trip out for them. I do take my 25 into the woods with me. We have 3 acres of which is woodland and trails. They love walking out there with me & the dogs and often the horse follows along too. Our horse thinks the chickens are his pets, which is adorable. We have 7 rescue cats also which often follow us out. Into the woods we all go.
