My sister has a bearded dragon, and the crickets at feed stores are just so small compared to the crickets we have outside.

What attracts wild crickets? Is there a trap like thing i can set to catch them?

I want to be able to catch some to feed to her dragon since the crickets at pet stores are costing us a fortune!

I have a bearded Dragon too cricket costs are creeping higher and higher.... my nephew killed his Beardie by feeding it crickets from outside.....we later found out crickets at pet shop are softer shelled then those found outside and they can cause blockages....It seems like a great idea but please be careful.

The guy at the petshop owns a dragon,a nd thats what he recommended to us. Thank you so much for the warning!

Hmm... I wonder if I can soak them to get the shells softer...

what about setting up a breeder colony for them? A couple of rubbermaid totes should be enough to keep you in crickets forever?

I'm a big boy so the garage is my space. I can do whatever I want in the garage as long as the wife tells me it is ok

We raised the soft shelled crickets for our tarantula. From what I remember, it didnt smell, and you really don't need a big container--just the right conditions.

Can you just buy feedstore crickets and let them repopulate or...? Im new to this , dont know life span or anything, but i think i might just give this a go

We had a garage... but now it is the "man room" for my dad. We have the barn....but it is my dad's junkhouse. I might be able to do it on the side of the barn. Ive sectioned off my own 7 x 10 area that dad cant dump his crap in.

Would he eat worms as well? My sis had a frog, and we raised a worm colony for froggy food (and when I say "we" I mean "me" everytime she wanted an animal I ended up shoveling the poo, etc).

At first I thought you meant wild outdoor ones, we have tons here, you want them, bring a bucket.
