Who Has a Tempurpedic (sp?) Bed?

Sounds like she got one of the stiff ones. She should try the memory foam mattress toppers. Costco sells them pretty cheap. Many stores only carry the one model and its very misleading. We did a lot of shopping around and were surprised when we found a store with 5 different temp. mattresses to try. We got 2 different ones and one was too hard (See previous post about demo models) and we didn't have time to return it before we moved overseas. We bought mattress toppers for it and it is fine now. Over the years the whole mattress is softening and improving with use so she does have options for making do with what she is stuck with.

The other crucial thing with temp. mattresses is a solid base. Do not put them on box springs.

I love love love love love ours!!!! I have a terrible time sleeping on a normal matress now. I used to have horrible hip pain and actually thought I could need a hip replacement because it hurt so much just to move. I was cured in one night and haven't had a moments pain since then. I will NEVER own a different bed again.

I got a nice memory foam mattress from overstock.com. Cost about $300 for a queen size. I love it. I think mine was made by Sealy.

This is very encouraging! There seem to be so many different options-----I'm glad I posted! Thanks everyone.

A friend of mine got a generic one and hated it because it was so hot. She was not at all a "hot natured" person. Had to cover half the bed with several layers to keep the temp effect away. Worst of it was, she got it for her back, which it did not help. Came from Overstock.com.

We've had a memory foam mattress with a bamboo topper from BedInABox for about two years now. It's OK, but the latex beds I tried out were actually more comfortable. So was the Sleep-By-Numbers. We couldn't afford either of those, though. 8D

One thing you'll never spend a lot of money on ever again with a foam mattress: blankets. I can't take more than one thin one through most of the year. Maybe two when it gets really cold. The other thing to keep in mind is they're really heavy! You'll need help to move your bed.

We just got one. My brother is moving around in the military and gave it to us. It is amazing! Such a relief to lay down upon each night, and we both feel more well rested in the morning. We've had it about a week now.
