We do real trees here. I've never, even as a child, had an artificial tree although I do admit that I've thought about getting one the past several years. My kids have thrown a fit about the whole idea though, so I haven't gone artificial yet.

Real, and artificial. The real one's in the house. This years is the smallest one we ever had in our 11 years. This one's only 6 feet, the others have been as big as 12 feet. Her's an 8 from last year.

Artificial because apparently, according to the doctor, I'm allergic to real ones... however, I'm interested in growing some soon.

I've always had artificial, though I love the smell of real ones.

Here's a picture of the one for this year (artificial). It was put up last Thursday, on Thanksgiving.

It's pretty small; about 6 feet or higher?

we purchased a 7.5 ft white xmas tree 5 yrs ago, artificial and I love it. I really like real trees, and I have 40 acres of them in the back of the land, but for a real tree I got a real big one out front that is about 30ft tall and we always put lights on it every winter. :)

Guilty as charged!

We own an artificial tree, a new one actually. It belonged to my grandmother and she died just two months ago so we took it in since it's a beautiful pre-lit tree. The only thing is at the last minute when setting it up today we noticed it was TOO tall that part of the tree top is smashed against the ceiling. LOL. I wish though we would one day try for a real tree cause I love the smell during the holiday season.

Our trees have been "dug" for the past several years. They either end up planted in the yard or in a pot that comes in & out of the house with the seasons (like the Norfolk Pines)

BTW- where we used to live, the cut trees are collected after the holidays and recycled by the city. They make mulch that the parks department sells super cheap in the spring, and some are taken to local watersheds and sunk in the water to clean it and provide habitats for wildlife.
