Who has placed an order for spring?!

We ordered pullets this past weekend for April 4th arrival!
From Farm & Fleet - FIVE of each:
Light Brahmas
Speckled Sussex
Cuokoo Marans
Welsummer
Easter Egger
From Rural King:
6 Black Copper Marans
5 Olive Eggers
5 Ameracaunas

Soooo basically 41 chicks! I am so crazy insane, what was I thinking!?! But I wanted a couple of each breed, and had to get the minimum. I would like to sell off extras to other crazy chicken people nearby, and do it ASAP, but I'm worried I'll get stuck with that random mis-sexed cockerl instead of pullets! We will keep all the Eggers/Ameracaunas until we see what colors of eggs they lay. Yes, I'm currently building a MUCH bigger coop!

And what are you getting??

Ours will be ready April 12-13. We are getting 6 more...all female. 2 Easter Eggers, 1 Orpington, 1 Australorp, 1 Salmon Faverolle and 1 light Brahma.

We currently have 2 Barred rocks, 1 Ameraucana, 1 Olive Egger and 2 silkies.

Very excited for the newbies! My husband is building an awesome brooder for this time around (last time we used a kiddie pool and found it awkward once they were a bit bigger).
How exciting!! I want a Salmon Faverolle...

So fun to hear what everyone's ordered! Is it possible to fall prey to secondhand chicken math? :p

I'm getting chicks this weekend and next weekend from a local feed store, and the wait is killing me. I have to ask-
What do you guys do to pass the time while waiting for chicks to arrive?

I've made the brooder, cleaned my feeders and waterers, double checked the brooder, confirmed my order, cleaned my yard, scrolled through pictures of chicks, browsed this forum, looked up brooder tips and tricks, read some books, made a collage of all the breeds I'm getting, talked with my family about chick names, worked, worked out, researched, and am now flailing around like, well, a chicken with its head cut off :) I think I'm going crazy! :gig Do you guys have any recommendations for or stories about how you spend time waiting for chicks to arrive? This week has just been the worst :barnie

Also, y'all are getting the coolest breeds! I'll be eagerly waiting alongside you for pictures and updates as it gets closer

I've been trying to do the same. Just got done with the pic browsing on here. Lol That's hilarious. I still need to build the run & coop, but the constant rain here has been hindering any progress

Our order from Meyer went from 3 to 6 to 12 plus a meal maker

1 each RSL, white plymouth rock and australorp coming as our 3 reinforcements. :jumpy

...

plus an EE and 2 blue ameraucanas that will brood with ours and then go to a friend's coop at 12 weeks. :jumpy:jumpy

...

plus 2 each RSL, BR and EE as a starter flock for someone who I apparently talked into building a chicken coop when we were at their house last fall

...

the meal maker will replace for numbers if one of the other chicks doesnt make it ... or will make us have 4 reinforcements instead of 3, just dont tell my wife
