Who has Red Silkies?

I just talked to Cathryn Walden, hers are bearded and beautiful. If you want some eggs in a couple weeks or so email her at: [email protected].

Jerry Schnedeker (I probably butchered that spelling) of the SCNA has red silkies--think red as in new hampshire red, not quite as dark as RIR. No black--just red on the photos I've seen. Type is European, not as typically found in America. They are imported from the Netherlands.

The roo I had was red but the hens tended to be more of a buff. They were more pet quality and needed a lot of work. I liked them but had to make room for something else I really wanted.

Luann Keller has the Mahogany Silkies from Holland. They are to die for! I think they are currently being housed at Karen's house though. They are absolutely stunning to look at. I would love to have them but can't seem to pry them away from her.

Clint,
I saved that pic from a UK poultry forum, I don't remember which one. I just happened across it sometime ago and saved the pic for reference.

Steve

I know that Jerry was selling them for the price of shipping. They are just like the ones posted. I have a little hen. She is so clean and shiney. Healthy too. Through all the sickness in my coop she has not had one problem. She also has gotten no mites. She is just a sweet and clean thing. If you go to his website you can contact him. Or through the Serama Council of North America.
