My second hatch is in the bator now due next week.

This is my first year with silkies. They are now 9 months old; the pics were taken at around 6 months of age. They are so beautiful and friendly. Can't wait for broodies! I am going to use them to hatch out my Buttercups,Polish and Crevecoeurs!

I love to cuddle him...he is such a sweetie! He will crow on demand when I call his name.
The rest of my little flock are bantam cochins.

Here are SOME of my gang....

(RIP Duke) He passed away this year. Luckily we were able to get some really nice babies out of him.

I would love to get a white silkie pullet.. how hard is it to find one and how much can I expect to pay?

also... they are beautiful and fluffy on pics but how clean are they? I mean those white ones when it rains and they get mud on their feathers are you having to bathe them often. Also chickens when they poop they move the feathers out of the way are silkies able to do this also or does the poop end up in their fluff? info much appreciated.

Thanks, "The Warden"...I really love my baby!

"RooptyDoo" I really like the colors of your splash silkies...(sorry, if the term is wrong). and wow 70!!

My chickens have a coop/covered run so mud is not an issue....thank goodness! Barney has never had poop on his bottom. He actually squats to poop.
