Peachick has Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas
They were hatched from eggs from ABC breeder Pips&peeps who is working very hard on egg
color and a darn good breeder. (o:

The easter egg chicken sorry I cant spell thier name, I just watched a judge give a talk to a group of breeders who were showing birds and eggs from that breed. He chose the eggs that were the truest blue color and why he did that, I didnt understand it all, I was just interested in what he had to say about the birds , and he wanted the breeders to try and lean that way, he also thought the shows offer classes for hens to be shown with thier eggs after the hen was judged alone.

I also went to a show a couple years ago egg division had some duck eggs that I thought were plastic easter eggs they were so blue.but they were real eggs.

Amazondoc...you have some beautiful eggs!!!! do you have a picture of the one that laid that darkest blue egg??? mine lay light greenish eggs...

But remember -- those blue eggs are NOT that bright in real life. They are blue, but the brightness in that photo is an artifact of the photographic process. I don't know which bird laid that particular egg, but it was from one of my bantam araucanas. NOT ameraucana, NOT EE -- true rumpless/tufted araucana.

Im basically just starting my flock and Ive learned alot in 27wks...I need a EE roo for my girls...and maybe a splash roo, and a blue maran roo...who lays the pink egg? is there away to tell what chicken will lay it?
