Who has used mypetchicken.com?

Somebody else may know for sure, but my understanding (please correct me if I am wrong) is that they do not hatch their own eggs. That is, they are a middleman for other hatcheries/breeders. So therefore the "quality" is probably not consistent because they buy from various places.

Can anyone confirm this?

Well my girls are from mypetchicken, I have 2 rir, 2 silverlaced wyandottes and one gold laced wyandotte...all seem to be pretty doing well. But as they are my first, everything I've learned is from BYC... I ordered 5 and got 6 the 6th was a amercauna (that I did want) that didn't make it. They came in well insulated cardboard box with a heat pad underneath. Expensive, but since I didn't want large numbers, a good option at the time.

Not really, she isn't up to standards, one being her legs being bright yellow. But she certainly is pet quality.

I got two started pullets from them, they're lovely birds, but the pullets come debeaked. Get chicks.

They were very helpful and answered all my pesty questions. I would do it again. Check out their site or call, they will help you with any questions.

I don't know enough about showing birds to know if mine are show quality. They're healthy and look fine to me.

They were not 100 percent on females. I ordered 3 silkie pullets and got 6 straight run by mistake ( 5 turned out to be roos, 4 are rehomed). But to their credit, they apologized for the mistake and made it up to me with a few free GLW chicks.

I paid (alot)extra for all girls and got 2 rooster and it was a very small order. They offered to make it right by posting on here in October 07 asking me to contact them. I sent 2 emails to them and they never got back to me to make good on their word

I sure hope they dont treat too many customers this way

I can understand that there are go guarentee with the sexing, thats a risk we all take. But to publicly post asking me to contact them, and then not following through was very bad.

I ordered four babies from MyPetChicken, and they were in great shape and are beautiful adults. They came from Meyer Hatchery.

Unfortunately, one of our "girls" was a roo, so he's at his new home. I was disappointed that MyPetChicken didn't offer any sort of reparation when I let them know of the mistake. If you want a small flock and you're paying extra to be able to do that - the whole basis for their business model - it would be nice if they did something to make amends.

I'm so relieved to read mostly good reviews about mypetchicken - that's who we're planning on using since we just need a few.

I'm sorry a couple of you have had issues with them - it doesn't seem the norm though.
